Super Basic Words Review (Twitter follow up lesson) Part 4

もう11月ですね。

= Mou juuichigatsu desune.

= It’s already November.

いうことは今年もあと2ヶ月しかないのですね。

= To iu koto wa kotoshi mo ato nikagetsu shika nai no desu ne.

= That means there are only two more months left this year.

Oh my! Time sure does fly!

1) to read  =  読む = よむ = yomu

= 新聞を読む

= しんぶんをよむ

= shinbun wo yomu

2) to write = 書く = かく = kaku

= 文章を書く

3) to open = 開けるあける = akeru

21 ) to chill / to cool = 冷やす = ひやす= hiyasu

= 氷で冷やす

= koori de hiyasu

22) to burn s.t. = 焦がす = こがす = kogasu

23) to heal, to cure = 治す = なおす = naosu

= 病気を治す

= びょうきをなおす

= byouki wo naosu

24) to stop s.t. / s.o. = 止める とめる = tomeru

:rrrr: to stop the car

= 車を止める
= くるまをとめる
= kuruma wo tomeru

25) to drop = 落とす= おとす = otosu

:rrrr: to drop a ring

=指輪を落とす
= ゆびわをおとす
= yubiwa wo otosu

26) to throw = 投げる = なげる = nageru

    「終える」について質問なんですが、
    「宿題を終える」と「宿題を終わらせる」はどうやって違いますか?後は「宿題を済ませる」

      この3つはよく似ていますね。同じ様に使うことも多いのですが、一応意味の違いを下に英語でしておきますね。

      「終える」is simply “to finish”. You have been working on your homework and as a result you have done/finished your homework.
      Ex. 2時間机にむかい、宿題をやっと終えることができた。

      「終わらせる」is “to make/force something over/finish””to put an end” “make an end”

      Ex. 遊びたいので宿題を早く終わらせる

      「済ませる」is “to get something done/to complete something” It implies nothing left. It sounds very similar to 終わらせる but usually 済ませる is used for something that you have to do.
      Ex. 支払いを済ませる
      Ex.. 用を済ませる
